Memorable Moments

Brett Favre as a Viking vs the Packers (2009)

Favre’s matchups vs Green Bay as a Viking were the most anticipated events of the 2009 season. In their first meeting at Minnesota on October 5, the Monday Night Football game broke cable TV ratings records. Favre bested his long-time protégé Aaron Rodgers, beating the Packers 30-23.

With hopes of beating Favre upon his return to Lambeau as a Viking in their second matchup of the season, the Packers didn’t fare much better. Green Bay lost at home, 38-26.

Randy Moss’s Moon Game – First Playoff Meeting (2005)

In the Packers vs Vikings first playoff game in history, the Vikings beat the packers 31-17. You may remember this game as the one where Randy Moss mooned Packers fans after a TD reception.

Paul Edinger’s 56-Yard Game Winner (2005)

After being shut out in the first half, the Vikings completed an impressive comeback with Edinger’s dramatic 56-yard field goal for a 23-20 victory.

The 1975 Undefeated Streak

The 6-0 Vikings faced a struggling Packers team and nearly lost their perfect record, but Fran Tarkenton’s two late touchdown passes preserved their unbeaten status.

The 2008 Nail-Biter

A thrilling one-point victory for the Vikings (28-27) featuring Adrian Peterson’s decisive touchdown run and Jared Allen’s dominant defensive performance with two safeties.

2004 NFC North Championship Game

Freeman’s “He Did What?” Overtime Catch (2000)

On Monday Night Football, Antonio Freeman made one of the most famous catches in NFL history. Falling down after his first attempt to catch the pass, seemingly incomplete, the ball bounced into his arms without hitting the ground. Freeman grabbed it, got up, and ran it in for a touchdown, securing the Packers victory. Al Michaels, calling the game, could barely believe the catch: “He did what?!”.

Corey Bradford’s Game-Winner (1999)

Bradford’s clutch touchdown catch gave the Packers a dramatic 23-20 comeback victory.
