2000: Dolphins Beat the Cold

2014: Fake Spike & Pass to Adams

On October 12, 2014, the Packers beat the Dolphins 27-24 in Miami. Losing by 4 as time was running out, Aaron Rodgers marched the offense down the field to the 16 yard line.

With seconds left, Rodgers shouted “clock” to spike the ball to stop the clock. Instead, he faked the spike and tossed it to rookie Davante Adams for 12 yards, resulting in a first-down and getting out of bounds to stop the clock.

The fake spike was reminiscent of Dan Marino’s fake spike in 1994, a special nod to the great QB who happened to be in attendance that day. Tight end Andrew Quarless eventually caught the game-winning TD.

Which stadium hosted Super Bowl II?

Wrong!  The answer is Orange Bowl.

Correct!  Orange Bowl

Super Bowl II was hosted at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida, on January 14, 1968. Miami, as an AFL city, was chosen to help establish credibility and balance between the two conferences. Also, attendance at the previous year’s Super Bowl at the LA Coliseum was underwhelming, and the Orange Bowl had proven itself by hosting several previous Playoff Bowls.
